Rules & Guidelines.
Bradford Council x Ilkley MTB x Friends Of Ilkley Moor
RULE #1
Don’t be a dick.
Stick to the trail
Please stick to the defined trail and don't cut corners or sections of trail. This is to help keep single track, well, single track. The same goes for riding in fresh tracks on our beloved 'loam'. As tempting as it can be, please do your best not to create fresh tracks.
Be Nice, Say Hi
Please be aware of and respect other trail users. These trails are multi-use trails, not bike trails. Be extra aware on trail junctions, busier areas and blind crests and corners.
No digging
Digging or riding fresh lines is NOT permitted. Any trail maintenance has to be done with consent and in conjunction with Ilkley MTB and Bradford Council. If you have any queries about this, please get in touch with us.
Trash Free Trails
If you can pack it in, please pack it out. Take your litter home. For more information about how you can help do your bit, see www.trashfreetrails.org
STRAVA
This is not a trail centre. These are not closed trails. Log you rides but remember there’s no trophies for running another user over on your way to a KOM. Please ride respectfully and DON’T cut corners!
Why is all this so important?
It’s simple really. Ilkley Moor is enjoyed by many folk. Hikers, bikers, kids, dogs, ducks, deer, birds, even important mosses. It’s important we take good care of this Moorland that we are so privileged to be able to enjoy. It’s important we look after the trails we ride and keep close tabs on the impact we ALL have as users of these Moors, so that future generations can keep on doing the same.
Be Nice, say hi and stick to these rules and we’ll all keep on smiling.
